CHEMICAL PEELS

Peels chemically exfoliate the skin at a deeper level than topical exfoliators and work over days to help remove excess dead skin cells and impurities. Depending on the peel they can specifically work towards pigmentation and anti-aging.

Peels work best and are recommended as a series to see dramatic and visible results over time. A consultation is recommended to go over your specific treatment plan, recommended homecare, pre and post-treatment plan. Professional homecare is required to protect the skin during treatments and therefore protect your investment.

Anyone who is pregnant, plan to become pregnant or nursing is not a good candidate. If you have been on accutane or isotretinoin, you must wait at least 6 months before doing any advanced treatment. You must be diligent with using facial sunscreen and following the estheticians instructions and recommended homecare. Anyone with recent surgeries, laser resurfacing, fillers, injectables, inflamed rosacea, open sore or lesions, photosensitizing medications, or contraindicated medications or drugs.

Immediately during and after you can experience redness, heat, tightness, stinging, slight burning sensation, and some dryness. Over the following days you can experience more tightness and drying which results in some flaking and sloughing of dead skin. The client will need to limit sun exposure and exactly follow instructions and homecare to have a successful peel treatment.Added information is includded dung consultation.

There are some things you can do to prep for a chemical peel. You will want to take a break from any strong acids such as salicylic acid or glycolic acid. One week before your peel avoid electrolysis, waxing, or other depilatory hair removal. You will want to avoid sun exposure, tanning, self-tanners, adapalene, tazorc, or benzoyl peroxide before your first treatment.
